Former Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) batter AB de Villiers is set to make his return to playing the game, making his return 4 year after he officially announced. The South African batter is set to feature in the 2nd season of the World Championship of Legends (WCL), likely to be played after the IPL 2025.

AB de Villiers is one of the greatest player to play the game and over the year has established himself among some of the greatest South African to play the game. De Villiers is known for his extraordinary batting over the two decades of his career.

AB de Villiers is known renowned for his stint with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL. The RCB fans consider him a boy of their own and the South African had become a great friend RCB’s other star batter Virat Kohli.

De Villiers announced his retirement from all forms of cricket in 2021. But he is now ready to make his return after a gap of 4 years as he is set to play in the upcoming World Championship of Legends (WCL) cricket league for the Game Changers South Africa Champions likely to start from 18 July, 2025.

De Villiers will be part of the Game Changers South Africa Champions team that featured the likes of Herschelle Gibbs, Imran Tahir, Dale Steyn and Jacques Kallis in the first season. AB will be seen leading the team this season.

Former South African batter AB de Villiers had a illustrious career that spanned over two decades. De Villiers made his South Africa debut in the Test match vs England in 2004. He then went on to make his ODI and T20I debut in the following years.

The right-hand batter went on to play over 100 Test matches, 200 ODI and close to 100 T20Is. He also played a total of 184 IPL matches, mostly for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and scored 5162 runs.
