Adam Griffith Named Australia’s Pace Bowling Coach

Cricket Australia has officially appointed Adam Griffith as the new national pace bowling coach. With a background as a former Tasmania fast bowler and an experienced coach, Griffith is set to contribute significantly to the development of future Australian fast bowling stars.
Griffith will closely collaborate with Andrew McDonald, the head coach of the men’s cricket team, and Daniel Vettori, the current bowling coach. He will report directly to Ben Oliver, Cricket Australia’s head of national teams, ensuring a streamlined approach to the national fast-bowling development strategy.
Currently, Griffith serves as Victoria’s bowling coach and has previous experience as a head coach for both Tasmania and the Hobart Hurricanes. His coaching portfolio extends to working with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League, mentoring top fast bowlers such as Mohammed Siraj and Josh Hazlewood.
Griffith has been instrumental in nurturing Australian bowlers like Riley Meredith, Nathan Ellis, and Beau Webster. Moreover, he has played a key role in helping Will Sutherland with injury recovery. His appointment comes at a critical time, as senior pacers Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood near the end of their careers.
In his new role, Griffith will implement a national fast-bowling development strategy, acting as a bridge between Cricket Australia and state programs. He will also assume responsibilities from Daniel Vettori during any absences and provide support to the Australia A team.
Before he embarks on his full-time role with Cricket Australia, Griffith is set to complete the domestic season with Victoria, ensuring a smooth transition into his national duties.
