Andrew Flintoff’s 16-Year-Old Son Rocky Flintoff Selected Into England U19 Squad

Andrew Flintoff, renowned as one of the greatest all-rounders in cricket history, continues to be celebrated by fans and experts, particularly in England. Flintoff, who is part of England’s squad as a coaching staff member in the 2024 T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the USA, has now seen his son, Rocky Flintoff, make a significant stride in his cricketing journey.
At just 16, Rocky Flintoff has been selected for England’s U-19 squad for the upcoming youth ODI series against Sri Lanka U-19, which includes three matches. This selection follows his impressive performances for Lancashire 2nd XI, where he scored his maiden century against Warwickshire 2nd XI in Birmingham.
His century was crucial in helping Lancashire 2nd XI post a total of 404/8 in the first innings, and the match ended in a draw. Additionally, Rocky had earlier scored his maiden fifty against Durham 2nd XI in Manchester, showcasing his potential and earning a spot in the youth squad.
The 16-man squad also features Farhan Ahmed, the younger brother of Rehan Ahmed, and Haydon Mustard, the son of former English wicketkeeper Phil Mustard. Thomas Rew, the brother of James Rew, is also included in the team.
The three-match ODI series between England U-19 and Sri Lanka U-19 will kick off on June 28 in Chelmsford, with the subsequent matches taking place in Hove. Following the ODI series, the teams will compete in two Youth Tests. England’s U-19 squad is packed with quality players, many of whom participated in the U-19 World Cup earlier this year, promising an exciting series ahead.
