Indian cricket team’s left-arm pace bowler Arshdeep Singh has become the leading wicket-taker for Team India in T20 International format. Arshdeep reached the feat during India’s 1st T20I vs England.

The 1st T20I match between India and England is currently ongoing at the historic Eden Gardens cricket team in Kolkata. Team India captain Suryakumar Yadav won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Team India got off to a flying starts, thanks to the flying left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh. Arshdeep took 2 wickets in his first 2 overs to dismiss England’s openers Phil Salt and Ben Duckett.

The wicket of Phil Salt meant that Arshdeep Singh became joint-leading wicket-taker in T20I format for India with Yuzvendra Chahal with 96 wickets. But then the wicket of Ben Duckett in the next over helped Arshdeep become India’s leading wicket-taker with 97 wickets and counting.

Arshdeep Singh made his India debut in 2022

Arshdeep made his India debut in July 2022 playing against England in the T20I format. Arshdeep was really impressive with the ball in the last couple of season in the IPL for Punjab Kings before making his debut, which eventually played the key role in him getting selected to the Indian team.

Since making his debut, the left-arm pacer has played 60 matches (currently playing 61st match) for Team India, surpassing Yuzvendra Chahal as India’s leading wicket-taker in the format.
