AUS vs ENG: Nitin Menon and Australian Wicket-Keeper Matthew Wade’s Argument Goes Viral

During the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 match against England at Kensington Oval, Barbados, Australian wicket-keeper Matthew Wade was stunned when umpire Nitin Menon dismissed his argument over a dead ball.
In the 18th over of Australia’s innings, Wade hit for a four. On the next delivery, he pulled out, claiming he wasn’t ready, but still defended the ball back to the bowler. Wade expected Menon to call it a dead ball, but the umpire was upset since Wade had played the ball back instead of letting England’s wicket-keeper Jos Buttler collect it.
