IPL 2016 Final Hero Ben Cutting Receives Offer to Beat RCB in IPL 2025 Playoffs

The name of the Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting still lives on as the biggest nightmare for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans after he single-handedly helped Sunrisers Hyderabad beat RCB in the IPL 2016 Final.
Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting has revealed that he still receives offers from fans on his social media to join any team that faces RCB in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Ben Cutting has etched his name as the biggest nightmare for the RCB fans after the all-rounder crushed the RCB fans’ dream for their first-ever IPL title way back in 2016.
In the IPL 2016 Final match between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Ben Cutting delivered a man of the match performance with 39 runs off 15 balls batting first and took 2 wickets with the ball while SRH was in trouble in both situations.
After helping SRH win, Cutting became a fan favourite for SRH fans while he became a nightmare and a villain to many RCB fans. Recently, he revealed on ESPNcricinfo that he still receives over 150 offers daily to join the team that will face RCB in the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Cutting said on ESPNcricinfo, “If I load up my private messages on Instagram now, there’ll be 150 every day saying, ‘Can you make yourself available for the IPL as a replacement player?’ for any team that’s coming up against RCB.”
RCB vs SRH IPL 2016 Final
Batting first, while SRH was struggling on 148-5 at a high-scoring venue like Chinnaswamy, Cutting played a cameo of 39 runs off 15 balls that included 3 fours and 4 sixes and helped Hyderabad to post 208 runs on the board.
Later, when the Royal Challengers Bengaluru were cruising to victory and were on 114-0 in 10 overs, Ben Cutting delivered a big blow as he got the wicket of the dangerman Chris Gayle. Cutting didn’t stop there as he broke the backbone of the middle-order getting the valuable wickets of KL Rahul in the 16 overs.
Cutting finished with 2 wickets for 35 runs in 4 overs and scored 39 runs with the bat in 15 balls that eventually helped SRH to win by 8 runs and lift their one and only IPL trophy till date and the reason why RCB is still Trophyless in 2025.
However, that could change in the IPL 2025. RCB has already qualified for the IPL 2025 playoffs as of writing this, and they have a fairly balanced side that can challenge for the title. They have played 12 matches so far and won 8, with 3 ending in a defeat. Meanwhile, their most recent match vs the Kolkata Knight Riders was abandoned due to rain.
