Chennai Super Kings’ (CSK) Shaik Rasheed made MS Dhoni angry when he conceded an extra run while Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) 155-run chase was on. The incident occurred in the 8th over when Ishan Kishan pushed a delivery for a simple single.

Rasheed, who was standing at extra cover, came running in and threw at the stumps. The ball went wide of the mark, and there was no support, adding an extra run to SRH. MS Dhoni was certainly unhappy and advised Rasheed to use his brain instead.

Shaik Rasheed, 20, did not have the finest day on the cricket pitch on Friday. The young and vibrant Chennai Super Kings batsman was removed for a golden duck in the IPL 2025 encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad after failing to answer a Mohammed Shami delivery and his overthrow during fielding, which irritated CSK skipper MS Dhoni in the second part of the game.

Shaik Rasheed’s throw missed the stumps, allowing Kishan to come back for a double. Rasheed’s irresponsible move was not received well by Dhoni, who is rarely renowned for expressing his emotions on the pitch. While changing ends, Dhoni was seen pointing to his head and looking at Rasheed, sending a clear reminder to the kid to use his brain before delivering the ball like that.

Following the victory, SRH overtook Rajasthan Royals to eighth position in the 10-team table, with Dhoni’s side at the bottom of the table.

For CSK, their seventh loss in nine matches effectively puts an end to their hopes, as they now require victories in the next five matches and hope that the play-off cut-off is still at 14 for the fourth-placed team.
