CSK’s Ayush Mhatre Set to Join Suryakumar Yadav’s Team

In an exciting update, Chennai Super Kings’ 17-year-old batting star Ayush Mhatre is set to join Suryakumar Yadav led Triumph Knights Mumbai North East in the T20 Mumbai League 2025 season.
The T20 Mumbai League 2025 player auction was held today after the icon players draft was held few days back.
In the T20 Mumbai League players auction, the eight franchises shelled out big bucks to rope in promising local talents and local Mumbai players who have graced the IPL.
One of the exciting youngsters who was sold for big money in the auction is the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) youngster Ayush Mhatre, who was sold in the auction for 14.75 Lakhs, and he will play for the Triumph Knights Mumbai North East, which will be led by current India captain Suryakumar Yadav.
Ayush Mhatre joined the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp as an injury replacement for captain Ruturaj Gaikwad who had suffered a fractured elbow.
Since joining the side, Ayush has impressed the whole cricketing world with his brilliant intent batting. The 17-year-old Mumbai lad has played 4 matches for the yellow army and has scored 163 runs with a strike rate of 185.23.

Ayush Mhatre captured the limelight with his impressive performance for the India U19 side as well as the Mumbai senior side, despite being just 17.
In the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025 edition, Ayush Mhatre scored 458 runs in 7 innings with a strike rate of 135.50 and average of 65.43. It also includes a commendable 181 runs inning vs Nagaland, surpassing Yashasvi Jaiswal as the youngest to score 150+ runs in List-A cricket.
In his first Ranji Trophy season, the young sensation from Mumbai scored 471 runs in 14 innings with an average of 33.64.
