Dhoni Supports CISF’s Mega Cyclothon for Coastal Security

Mahendra Singh Dhoni actively participated in the CISF’s coastal security awareness event in Chennai on March 7, 2023. This initiative is part of a broader campaign, the CISF mega cyclothon, which seeks to enhance public vigilance and involvement in safeguarding India’s extensive coastline.
The cyclothon, which was officially launched by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, covers a considerable distance of 6,553 kilometers, spanning across 11 states and union territories. The primary goal is to educate coastal communities on the importance of reporting any unusual activities that could pose security threats. As of the latest update, the cyclothon has successfully covered a distance of 4,793 kilometers, impacting over 20 lakh participants in rallies and engaging 80 lakh individuals online.
Dhoni emphasized the crucial role of public involvement and vigilance in maintaining coastal security. This message aligns with the broader aim of the cyclothon to empower residents in coastal areas. The cyclothon is scheduled to conclude in Kanyakumari on March 31, 2023.
Additionally, the event has seen support from a range of notable figures including sports icons like Neeraj Chopra and Sunil Gavaskar, as well as actors such as Rajnikant and Akshay Kumar. This widespread backing underscores the significance of the initiative and the collective effort required to ensure the safety of India’s coastlines.
The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), established in 1969, plays a critical role in protecting important national assets. It is responsible for the security of 68 civil airports and various critical facilities across the country. Through initiatives like the mega cyclothon, the CISF not only reinforces its commitment to national security but also invites citizen participation, making security a collaborative effort.
