The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the much-anticipated IPL 2025 on February 16. This year’s tournament promises to deliver thrilling cricket action with a total of 74 matches spread over two months, including 70 league matches.

The tournament is set to begin on March 22 and will culminate with the finals on May 25. Both the opening match and the final will take place at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, ensuring a spectacular beginning and end to the season. The defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, are slated to face off against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the tournament’s first match, setting the stage for an exciting season.

In addition to the league-opening clash, cricket fans can look forward to a high-stakes match between traditional rivals, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians, on March 23. This encounter is particularly noteworthy as both teams have consistently delivered memorable matches in IPL history.

For those unable to attend the matches in person, live telecast will be available on the Star Sports Network. Fans can also stream the matches live through JioHotstar, ensuring they don’t miss any action.

The IPL 2025 will feature ten teams including Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bengaluru, SunRisers Hyderabad, Rajasthan Royals, Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals, Lucknow Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, and Punjab Kings. Each team will bring its own unique flair and strategy to the tournament.

Key players for the current champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, include the dynamic Rinku Singh and the explosive Andre Russell. On the Royal Challengers Bengaluru side, cricket superstar Virat Kohli is expected to play a significant role.
