Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Rajasthan Royals (RR) stunned the entire world as the Royals beat one of the best team in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season, Gujarat Titans on Monday night at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.

After opting to bowl first, the Rajasthan Royals bowlers have had no answer to the great batting effort by the Gujarat Titans openers Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan. The duo added 93 runs off 62 balls for the opening wicket with the latter dismissed for 39 runs off 30 balls.

However, Gujarat captain Shubman Gill continued the assualt and was joined by former Rajasthan batter Jos Buttler. The duo then added 74 runs off 38 balls before Gill was dismissed for 84 runs off 50 balls. But, Jos Buttler remained unbeaten having scored 50 runs off 26 balls, helping Gujarat Titans to post 209 runs on the board.

While everyone thought that is the game for the Gujarat Titans, but the Rajasthan Royals opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi had different plans all-together.

The openers for Rajasthan Royals added 166 runs for the opening wicket with 14-years-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi stunning the entire world with his blazing 35 balls century. He scored 101 runs off 38 balls before he was dismissed by Prasidh Krishna. The youngster has been the talk of the town for the kind of inning he played against some of the best IPL 2025 bowlers at Gujarat Titans.

Nitish Rana didn’t contribute much but Yashasvi Jaiswal’s 70 runs unbeaten knock combined with captain Riyan Parag’s cameo of 32 runs off 15 balls was enough to take the Rajasthan Royals to their 3rd victory of the season. This has lifted the Royals upto 8th place in the points.

Now many fans are wondering whether the Rajasthan Royals can qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs after that emphatic win over the Gujarat Titans. Let’s have a look.

Rajasthan Royals need to win all of their remaining 4 matches

There is only one scenario for the Rajasthan Royals to qualify into the IPL 2025 playoffs, they need to win all of their remaining games.

Rajasthan Royals have thus far played 10 matches in which they have won 3 matches and lost 7 and have 6 points. They have 4 games remaining against Mumbai Indians (MI), Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and the Punjab Kings (PBKS) and they need to win all of the game, by a big margin to improve their -0.349 net run rate.

If they win remaining all of the matches, they would have 14 points on the board. However, that won’t be enough, the Royals would also have to hope that teams above them lose some their matches so that they can’t touch their 14 points total or even if they touches, that is where Rajasthan’s net run rate would be crucial. Looking at it, it’s quite difficult with them to face direct playoffs rivals Mumbai and Punjab in coming games.

What if Rajasthan Royals win 3 and lose 1?

In-case the Rajasthan Royals don’t win all of their remaining 4 matches, that too by big margins, even 3 wins in 4 matches won’t be enough to qualify. The minimum cut-off points is expected to be 14 points like last year to qualify into the IPL 2025 playoffs. And if RR win 3 of their next 4 matches, they will finish the season on 12 points.
