Faf du Plessis, the vice-captain and opener for Delhi Capitals, showcased an impressive performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 10th match of the 2025 Indian Premier League season. The match, held in Vizag on Sunday, saw du Plessis contributing significantly towards the team’s chase of 164 runs.

Du Plessis gave Delhi Capitals a strong start by forming an 81-run partnership with Jake Fraser-McGurk. His aggressive play was evident as he scored 32 of those runs off 18 balls during the powerplay. The sixth over was highlighted by du Plessis skillfully hitting Pat Cummins for both a four and a six.

He reached his half-century in just 26 balls during the 9th over, marking his 38th fifty in the IPL. His innings, however, came to an untimely end in the 10th over when he attempted to attack spinner Zeeshan Ansari, resulting in a catch dismissal after scoring 50 runs off 27 balls, which included three fours and three sixes at a strike rate of 185.19.

This performance marked his 6th IPL fifty against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Over 20 matches against SRH, du Plessis has managed to score 621 runs at an average of 36.52 and a strike rate of 146.46, accumulating 63 fours and 24 sixes.

Du Plessis, in his 406th T20 match, has scored a total of 11,315 runs at an average of 32.70. His T20 career includes 79 fifties and six centuries. Within the IPL, du Plessis has amassed 4,650 runs at an average of 36.04. His contribution remains pivotal to the Delhi Capitals‘ success in the ongoing IPL season.
