Former Indian Batter sees Virat Kohli as potential Dhoni-like hero in ICC T20 World Cup final

Mohammad Kaif, a former cricketer from India, has expressed his belief that Virat Kohli, the star Indian batsman, has a great chance to become a hero in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa. Kaif drew a comparison between Kohli’s current form and the legendary performance of MS Dhoni in the 2011 ODI World Cup final, where Dhoni played a match-winning knock of 91 runs.
According to Kaif, despite Kohli’s recent sluggish performance in the T20 World Cup 2024, he has the potential to deliver a heroic performance in the final. Kaif pointed out that Dhoni was also out of form during the 2011 ODI World Cup but managed to turn things around in the final match.
Kaif believes that Kohli should take inspiration from Dhoni’s performance and play the ball on merit with proper cricket shots, rather than slogging. He also mentioned Kohli’s century in the ODI World Cup 2023 at the Eden Gardens, which could serve as a reminder of his ability to perform under pressure.
The Men in Blue will face South Africa in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday. This match will be a significant opportunity for Kohli to prove his mettle and cement his status as a legendary figure in Indian cricket, much like Dhoni.
