Former Pakistan cricketer, Inzamam-ul-Haq has come up with a bold statement, asking the other boards to stop sending their players to the Indian Premier League (IPL). As per the rules of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Indian cricketers are not allowed to feature in the foreign leagues before announcing retirement from all forms of the game.

Inzamam-ul-Haq also wants the same approach from the other boards likewise BCCI does. In a recent interaction on a Pakistan channel, the former Pakistan cricketer said, “Keep the Champions Trophy aside. You see the IPL, all the top players in the world play the IPL, but Indian players don’t play in any other league. Every board should stop sending their players to the IPL.”

“If BCCI are not releasing the players for any other league, then the other boards should also take a stance, right?” was quoted as saying by SportsKeeda.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan’s performance in the Champions Trophy 2025 have not been upto the mark as expected by the fans and several cricketers. They failed to qualify for the semi-finals after back-to-back defeats against New Zealand and India. In that case, Inzamam-ul-Haq also slammed the Pakistan cricketers for the poor performance in the tournament.

“We are not standing anywhere. We get knocked out right at the start. The moment there’s a little pressure, we completely collapse. Seven out of eight teams have at least one regular spinner, but we selected one for the entire tournament. This isn’t just a mistake it’s a blunder,” the 54-year-old was quoted as saying by propakistani.pk.

Their last encounter against Bangladesh at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium has been called off without being a single ball bowled due to rain. Hence, the hosts, Pakistan have ended up the Champions Trophy without a single win, lying on the bottom of the table.
