New Zealand cricket team’s batter Kane Williamson made his debut in the SA20 2025 season playing for the Durban Super Giants against the Pretoria Capitals in the match number 2 of the season.

New Zealand’s star batter Kane Williamson made his debut in the SA20 2025 season today playing for the Durban Super Giants (DSG) against the Pretoria Capitals.

Durban Super Giants won the toss and opted to bat first. The opening duo of Bryce Parsons and Matthew Breetzke gave a flying start to the Super Giants. The duo added 67 runs for the opening partnership.

Kane Williamson came in to bat at number 3 after Breetzke was dismissed. Williamson, a Kiwi veteran, began his inning with care, not wanting to give away his wicket.

However, he saw the likes of Parsons, Quinton de Kock, Heinrich Klaasen get dismissed right in front of his eyes, but he didn’t change his game.

Towards back end of the inning, Williamson finally displayed his hitting ability. The Kiwi batter eventually scored 60 runs off 40 balls that included 3 fours and 2 sixes.

Kane Williamson received a great support from Wiaan Mulder. Mulder displayed his outrageous hitting ability, scoring 45 runs off 19 balls. His fireworks from the other end helped Williamson to play his kind of inning, which eventually helped the Durban Super Giants to post 209 runs on the board.

Kane Williamson has long been a part of the Indian Premier League (IPL). He has played for the likes of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Gujarat Titans and even led the SRH team and won the Orange Cap for scoring most runs in 2018.

However, after long being a part of the IPL, the former New Zealand captain went unsold in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.
