“I Am Not Going to Stop” – Rohit Sharma Raring to Win More ICC Trophies For Team India Starting With Champions Trophy in 2025

Rohit Sharma’s T20I career began on a high note with a World Cup victory in 2007 with the Indian cricket team, and he fittingly brought it to a close in 2024 with another World Cup triumph, this time as captain, a dream journey that started and ended with world titles as Rohit Sharma retired as Team India’s T20I captain with the 2024 T20 World Cup Trophy.
Rohit is known for his ability to win trophies. He has led the Mumbai Indians to five IPL titles as captain and has a total of six IPL championships to his name, including one as a player with the now-defunct Deccan Chargers.
Looking ahead to 2025, India is set to compete in the Champions Trophy, and if they qualify, they could also play in the ICC World Test Championship final.
In addition to his World Cup successes, Rohit has also captained India to a couple of Asia Cup victories. Although he has retired from T20Is, Rohit has no intention of slowing down. He is now focused on leading India to more victories in the upcoming ICC events.
“There’s a reason I’ve won five IPL trophies,” Rohit remarked during an event in Mumbai on Wednesday. “I’m not going to stop, because once you get the taste of winning games and Cups, you don’t want to stop. We’ll keep pushing as a team and striving for better things in the future.”
BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has already confirmed that Rohit Sharma will continue to lead India in ODIs and through the current WTC cycle. Rohit also acknowledged that India’s success across formats has been greatly influenced by key figures like Rahul Dravid, , and Jay Shah.
