ICC Champions Trophy 2025: PAF’s Air Show Over Karachi Stadium Scares New Zealand Players and Fans

Pakistan Air Force (PAF)’s Sherdil Squadron showed some exciting aerial stunts in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 at the National Stadium, Karachi. Currently, Pakistan is hosting an ICC tournament after 28 years. So, the Pakistan Cricket Board wants to give excitement to players and the fans in the stadium. So, the PCB scheduled a PAF air show in the opening match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
In the first inning, when New Zealand opening batsman Will Young and are present at the crease. Then PAF’s planes flew over their heads. Some players and fans feel scared as the air show begins. But as soon as the players and spectators came to know that this was an aerial show of the Pakistan Air Force, they were excited to see it. Most probably, these are the PAF’s JF-17 jets that perform at the opening ceremony. Fans also enjoy the air show from the stands.
Pakistani bowlers were dominant in the first Power Play.
In the first match of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Pakistan won the toss and chose to field first. New Zealand’s openers try to give a balanced start to the team, but Pakistani bowlers take wickets in the 7th and 8th overs of the inning. Abrar Ahmed took the wicket of Devon Conway who scored just 10 runs. In the very next over, Kane Williamson also got out after scoring just 1 run. Although Will Young played well and was present at the crease on 80 runs till the article writing.
