Persistent rain meant that the post-lunch session was delayed, and the match had a slow start, with Australia at 28/0.

Rain Stops Play Twice at Gabba

The rain played spoilsport early in the match. In a brief 13-over period, Brisbane’s Gabba ground saw rain twice. The first break came after just 5.3 overs, and the second one arrived after 13.2 overs. Australia managed to reach 28 without losing a wicket during this stop-start session. Due to the weather, an early lunch was taken, and the post-lunch session was also delayed.
