India Crush Afghanistan to Continue Unbeaten Run in T20 World Cup 2024

Barbados, June 20, 2024 – India continued their dominant run in the T20 World Cup 2024 with a convincing 47-run victory over Afghanistan in their first Super 8 match at Kensington Oval in Barbados.
After winning the toss and electing to bat first, India posted a competitive total of 181 runs in their 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya were the stars with the bat, scoring 52 and 43 runs respectively. In response, Afghanistan’s innings never really got going, and they were eventually bowled out for 134 runs in 19.3 overs.
Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh were the pick of the Indian bowlers, taking three wickets each. Bumrah was particularly impressive, finishing with figures of 3-22 in his four overs. For Afghanistan, Mohammad Nabi top-scored with 32 runs, but it was not enough to prevent a heavy defeat.
With this win, India remain unbeaten in the tournament, having won all three of their matches in the first round and now their first Super 8 match. They will be looking to continue their winning streak when they take on their next opponent.
