The Indian cricket team once again displayed emphatic performance in the 5th and the final match of the 5 match series between India and England. Team India beat England by 150 runs in the 5th match at the Wankhede stadium in Mumbai.

Team India were asked to bat first at the Wankhede stadium by the England captain Jos Buttler. Buttler’s decision to bowl first didn’t look good as both Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma gave India a flying start. Below is the Man of the Match and Player of the Series award winners name.

Despite the departure of Samson after scoring 16 runs, his opening partner Abhishek Sharma bought mayhem to the England bowlers. Sharma went on to score the highest individual score by an Indian batter in an inning in T20I cricket.

Abhishek Sharma scores 135 runs while crucial contributions from Tilak Varma and Shivam Dube helped India post 247 runs on the board. Then it was the bowlers who bowled out the England team for just 97 runs as India won the match by 150 runs. Only Phil Salt was any good for the English team with the opening batter scoring a fifty.

24-years-old left-hand opening batter Abhishek Sharma has been named the India vs England 5th T20I Man of the Match. Sharma scored 135 runs off 54 balls that included 7 fours and 13 sixes. He also bagged 2 wickets in one over, dismissing Brydon Carse and Jamie Overton.

Meanwhile, in-form Varun Chakravarthy has been named the India vs England Player of the Series for the 5 match T20I series. Chakravarthy was a constant threat for the English batter with his mystery bowling.

Varun Chakravarthy took a total of 14 wickets in 5 match series. He took 2 or more wickets in every match of the series and his most memorable performance of the series came in the 3rd T20I, taking 5 wickets for 24 runs.
