The Rajasthan Royals and Kolkata Knight Riders are scheduled to face off in the sixth match of the Indian Premier League’s 18th season, the IPL 2025. The game will be played on March 26, 2025, at 7:30 p.m. (IST), at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati.

Both sides are coming off losses in their opening matches. Rajasthan lost their match against Hyderabad by 44 runs, while the defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders, lost their home opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 7 wickets.

The middle-order collapse left KKR stunned despite a strong start from the top order. Venkatesh Iyer and Andre Russell underperformed on the initially scheduled night. The KKR bowlers failed to live up to the pre-match expectations as RCB got off to a strong start, and the Knights were unable to recover entirely.

Opening Pair

Quinton de Kock and Sunil Narine start the innings for Kolkata Knight Riders. In the last match, Quinton de Kock started his inning with a boundary but unfortunately, he got out in the first over.

On the other hand, Sunil Narine got a great start. He scored 44 runs in 26 balls with a strike rate of 169, where he hit five boundaries and three over boundaries. With the ball, he also took one wicket and his economy is the best among all KKR bowlers.

Ajinkya Rahane at NO.3

Kolkata Knight Riders’ new captain, Ajinkya Rahane, scored a half-century in the last match; he scored 56 runs in 31 balls with a strike rate of 180 along with six boundaries and four over boundaries. He will be looking forward to continuing his form in the upcoming match.

Middle Order

Venkatesh Iyer is the highest buy for KKR in this year’s IPL auction. But he was unable to justify his price tag in the opening fixture. He only scored 6 runs in 7 balls. The next match will be very important for him.

The 20-year-old Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a good innings with his bat. He showed coolness and calmness in the middle order, which is usually not his regular position for batting. However, he scored 30 runs in 22 balls with a strike rate of 136, hitting two boundaries and one over boundary.

Rinku Singh, who is known for his aggressive batting and accelerating the scoreboard with his power hitting, has failed to deliver his usual performance. He played 10 balls and scored only 12 runs and gave his wicket to Krunal Pandya.

Andre Russell also failed to perform like other KKR middle and lower-middle-order players. Russell started his innings by hitting a four but he gave his wicket to his previous teammate, Suyash Sharma.

All-rounder Ramandeep Singh came very late for batting and scored only 6 runs in 9 balls.

Bowlers

Spencer Johnson is the new signing for KKR in this season but he doesn’t impress the fans and management very well. In 2.2, over he conceded 31 runs and didn’t take any wickets.

Harshit Rana also went expensive; without taking any wickets, he bowled 3 overs and conceded 32 runs.

The mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy was able to take only one wicket, and that was his previous teammate Phil Salt. He also went expensive; he conceded 43 runs in 4 overs.

Impact Player

Vaibhav Arora came as an impact player in the last match and in this match, he could come as an impact player. But in the last match, he isn’t able to show much impact with his bowling. However, he took one wicket but he was the most expensive bowler for KKR with an economy of 14.00.
