The highly anticipated 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is starting on Saturday, 22nd March 2025, where KKR and RCB will face each other in the opening match of the tournament. The second match will take place between last season’s second- and third-finished teams, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals.

Sunrisers Hyderabad will be led by Australian veteran Pat Cummins. SRH made a solid squad, retained some of their core players, and brought in some amazing foreign and domestic players who will have the capability to deliver their best in the upcoming season.

This is the second game of the Indian Premier League. The Sunrisers Hyderabad will begin their season against the Rajasthan Royals. Last year, the Sunrisers enjoyed a successful season but were defeated in the final by KKR. They will seek to take advantage of their home edge.

The Opening Pair

Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma start the innings for SRH; both players are known for their aggressive batting style. Last season, Head played a total of 15 matches, and he scored 567 runs, one century, and four half-centuries.

On the other hand, Abhishek Sharma played 16 matches and scored 484 runs with three half-centuries, with the highest score of 75*. The SRH fans are willing to observe the same aggression from both players throughout the tournament.

Ishan Kishan at NO. 3

Ishan Kishan is the new addition to the SRH team for IPL 2025. Last year was a good season for the Indian star; he played 14 matches and scored 320 runs for MI. He will be a good first down for the SRH.

Middle Order

Nitish Kumar Reddy, was the solid Indian middle order for SRH. He played 13 matches for the team in the last season and scored 303 runs with two half-centuries. He also took three wickets with his bowling skills.

Heinrich Klaasen is known for his aggressive play in the middle order, last season he played some amazing innings in partnership with NK Reddy. Klaasen played a total of 15 innings last season and scored 479 runs along with four half-centuries with a 171 strike rate.

Abhinav Manohar, last season he was part of the Gujarat Titans but doesn’t get enough matches to play. He only played 2 matches and scored only 9 runs. Hope he will get enough time to play in this this year.

Bowlers

Pat Cummins, the Australian skipper, will lead the SRH team as well as the bowling unit of the team. Last season he played a crucial role in his team, he took 18 wickets in 16 matches and also scored 136 runs with his bat.

Harshal Patel was the purple cap winner last year with 24 wickets. He is known for his slow and intelligent bowling.

Mohammed Shami did not participate in last year’s IPL due to injury, but he was the purple cap winner in the 2023 IPL for Gujarat Titans where he took 28 wickets.

Rahul Chahar, the Indian spinner, is known for his googly and tricky bowling. Last season he was part of Punjab Kings but the season was not good for him; he only got the chance to play 9 matches, where he took only 10 wickets.
Adam Zampa was part of Rajasthan Royals last season, where he played 6 matches and took 8 wickets for the franchise.

Impact Player

Sachin Baby (while chasing a target) will be a good batting option for them. His domestic season was also good in this year and he has a good experience.

Simarjeet Singh (while defending total) will be a good option for an impact player. Last season he plate 4 matches and took 5 wickets for CSK.
