Ayush Mhatre Replaced Ruturaj Gaikwad

The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have suffered a setback with captain Ruturaj Gaikwad ruled out due to an elbow fracture. In place of him, the franchise has signed Ayush Mhatre, a 17-year-old from Mumbai.

The young batter is expected to make his IPL debut against the Mumbai Indians on April 20, according to sources. The young star is in the headlines due to his exceptional performance in the domestic circuit with centuries.

Dasun Shanaka Replaced Glenn Phillips

Glenn Phillips of the Gujarat Titans went back to New Zealand after injuring his groin while fielding against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 6.

Gujarat Titans (GT) announced on Thursday that Sri Lankan all-rounder will replace injured New Zealand all-rounder Glenn Phillips for the remaining matches of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025.

Smaran Ravichandran Replaced Adam Zampa

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) has recruited Karnataka batsman Smaran Ravichandran to replace injured Australian spinner Adam Zampa, who has been ruled out for the whole season.

Ravichandran made it to the senior Karnataka squad despite repeated rejections. He has appeared in seven first-class, ten List A, and six T20 games, scoring over 1,100 runs, four centuries, and three half-centuries in his domestic career.

Dewald Brevis Replaced Gurjapneet Singh

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have recruited South African Dewald Brevis as their replacement for the injured Gurjapneet Singh for the rest of the IPL 2025. Brevis will join CSK for Rs. 2.2 crore.

Brevis, who has played 81 T20s and scored 1787 runs, with his highest score being 162, will play two T20Is for South Africa in 2023. He has played in the IPL before, with the Mumbai Indians in 2022 and 2024. Previously this year, he contributed to MI Cape Town capturing its first SA20 title.

Lockie Ferguson Likely To Miss Entire Season

The Punjab Kings are set to be missing New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson for the remainder of the season. According to sources, Ferguson experienced a side strain during Punjab’s away match against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

While the specific cause of the injury has not been revealed, he is out indefinitely. But the franchises have not announced any replacement for him right now. The team still has overseas options in their team, like Xavier Bartlett and Azmatullah Omarzai.
