The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction is done and dusted. Teams didn’t shy away from spending big, especially for the Indian cricket team’s star batter like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer. Let’s take a look at what transpired in the Mega Auction 2025.

As the pre-auction hype suggested, Indian cricket team’s wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant and IPL 2024 winning captain Shreyas Iyer are the top 2 buys in the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Pant bagged a 27 crore INR deal with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) while Shreyas Iyer got a whopping 26.75 crore INR from Punjab Kings for winning the IPL season with KKR.
When it comes to Iyers, another Iyer reached the peak of the mountain, we are talking about Venkatesh Iyer. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) went all-out head-to-head for Iyer but eventually KKR retained their man for 23.75 crore INR. Many cricket experts thinks Iyer went a little bit expensive, however, KKR fans are really happy to keep him.
Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh also bagged big money deals from the Punjab Kings. Meanwhile, Chennai Super Kings have brought back their former man Ravichandran Ashwin and they have added Afghanistan spinner Noor Ahmed.
Delhi Capitals meanwhile have signed KL Rahul to make-up for the loss of Rishabh Pant. They also added Mitchell Starc while retained Jake Fraser-McGurk using the RTM card.
Gujarat Titans meanwhile have secured the signing of Jos Buttler, Mohammed Siraj and Kagiso Rabada. Meanwhile, Mumbai Indians is excited to bring back the partnership of Jasprit Bumrah and Trent Boult after the addition of the latter. They have also got Will Jacks from the clutches of RCB, who surprisingly decided not to use the RTM card.
RCB meanwhile have made the big money splash move for Phil Salt, who joins from the defending champions KKR. They will also have experienced Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Sunrisers Hyderabad added more firepower with the addition of Ishan Kishan for 11.25 crore. Mohammed Shami will bolster their pace bowling.
Meanwhile, the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) aim in this year’s auction was to bring back their most of the players. They have resigned Venkatesh Iyer and also brought back the likes of Angkrish Raghuvanshi, Vaibhav Arora, Rahmanullah Gurbaz. They have added Quinton de Kock as replacement for Phil Salt.
