IPL 2025 Mega Auction: The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 Mega Auction is around the corner, and franchises are strategizing to retain their core players. While established stars will dominate the headlines, Indian uncapped players have consistently proven their value in the tournament. Here’s one Indian uncapped player each IPL team may consider retaining ahead of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction.

Mumbai Indians might retain Nehal Wadhera before IPL 2025 Mega Auction

Nehal Wadhera is a talented young batsman, who made his IPL debut with a lot of promise in IPL 2023 with 241 runs at a strike rate of 145.18 and average of 26.78. However, his IPL 2024 performance saw a decline, with 109 runs at a strike rate of 129.76 and average of 18.17. This could also be due to the team’s overall struggles in the IPL 2024. Despite this, Wadhera’s aggressive batting style and potential make him a valuable asset for Mumbai Indians.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru – Manoj Bhandage

Manoj Bhandage is a talented all-rounder from Karnataka. Born on October 5, 1998, in Raichur, Karnataka, Bhandage is a left-hand batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler. Bhandage was bought by RCB for INR 20 lakhs in the IPL 2023 auction and was retained for the IPL 2024 season, although he has yet to make his IPL debut.

Despite this, he has shown promise in the Maharaja T20 Trophy, playing for the Mysuru Warriors. Bhandage scored 292 runs in 12 innings in the Maharaja T20 Trophy 2024 season. He scored 44 runs of just 13 balls in the final, which is a remarkable feat he made headlines for.

Sunrisers Hyderabad – Sanvir Singh

Sanvir Singh is a talented all-rounder from Punjab who plays for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Born on October 12, 1996, in Ludhiana, Punjab, Sanvir is a right-hand batter and right-arm medium pacer.

Continuing his good form in IPL 2023, Badoni scored 238 runs in 12 matches, showcasing his ability to finish games and cementing his value to LSG. He finished the IPL 2024 season with 235 runs.

Punjab Kings – Shashank Singh

Punjab Kings on the other hand, found themselves a hero in the form of Shashank Singh, a player who made the headlines during the IPL 2024 Auction. After purchasing the player, the franchise objected that it was a wrong player but was things corrected. But in the end, Shashank ended-up being the team’s best batter in the league. The 32-years-old scored 354 runs in 14 innings with a strike rate of 164.65 and average of 44.25. Despite his age, Punjab Kings would be looking to keep the player as an uncapped retention.

Rajasthan Royals – Kunal Singh Rathore

Rajasthan Royals have a great set of players in their squad with most of them with international status. Riyan Parag was star batter in IPL 2024 but he also earned an India cap, which rules him out of this list. In this case, Rajasthan Royals is unlikely to retain any uncapped player. But, we think, if Rajasthan Royals is looking to retain an uncapped player, it should be Kunal Singh Rathore. The local lad is a high quality batter who can strike the ball hard. He mostly bats in the middle-order.

Chennai Super Kings – Sameer Rizvi

Chennai Super Kings‘ Uttar Pradesh born batter Sameer Rizvi is one day going to be a big name in Indian T20 team and the 5 times IPL champions won’t want to let go of him easily. Rizvi got in the IPL 2024 after CSK bought him for a mega 8.4 crore after his impressive performance in the UP T20 League. He scored 455 runs in 2023 UP T20 League and carried the momentum into 2024 to score 468 runs. Although he scored only 51 runs in 5 innings, Rizvi is still 20 is likely to get better.

Delhi Capitals – Abhishek Porel

Bengal cricketer Abhishek Porel, playing for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2024, took everyone by surprise. The 21-years-old wicketkeeper batter scored 327 runs in 12 innings with a strike rate of 159.51 and average of 32.70. Porel carried his form into the inaugural Bengal Pro T20 League where he scored 215 runs.

Gujarat Titans – Abhinav Manohar

Gujarat Titans’ 30-years-old hard-hitting batter Abhinav Manohar has not managed to get the desired game time with the Gujarat Titans in the IPL. After early season failures for the Karnataka batter in his IPL career, Abhinav Manohar has significantly improved his game, which was in display in the recent Maharaja T20 League. Manohar scored 507 runs with a strike rate of 196.51 and average of 84.50, which might be enough to convince the Gujarat team.

Kolkata Knight Riders – Harshit Rana

It was convincing and dominating performance from the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2024 to win their 3rd title. The entire team stepped-up to the occasion. There are a number of talented players in the team and if one player KKR is likely to retain as uncapped player is .

Rana, since joining the team in 2022, he has considerably improved himself. From taking 5 wickets in 6 matches in 2023 to taking 19 wickets in 11 matches in IPL 2024. Harshit Rana is also in the radar for the Indian team selection, but, as of writing this, he is yet to get a call-up.
