IPL 2025: PBKS vs MI Match Shifted to Ahmedabad

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a venue change for the upcoming IPL 2025 match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Mumbai Indians (MI). Originally slated to take place in Dharamshala, the match will now be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on May 11. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:30 PM IST.
The decision to shift the venue comes in the wake of logistical challenges resulting from the closure of airports in North India. These closures are part of precautions taken following ‘Operation Sindoor’, a military operation conducted by the Indian armed forces. The operation targeted nine terrorist sites located in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, leading to heightened security measures and the temporary suspension of some airports in the affected regions until May 10.
Anil Patel, Secretary of the Gujarat Cricket Association, confirmed that Ahmedabad would host the PBKS-MI match, ensuring the game could be played without complications arising from the ongoing airport closures.
As the IPL 2025 progresses, both teams are in critical positions on the points table. Punjab Kings currently hold the third spot with 15 points from 11 games, while Mumbai Indians are close behind in fourth place with 14 points from 12 games. The upcoming match is crucial for both teams as they aim to maintain or improve their standings in the tournament.
With the Narendra Modi Stadium being one of the premier cricket venues in India, the match promises to provide a great spectacle for cricket fans, who can look forward to an exciting contest between these two competitive teams.
