The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially announced the schedule for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. This highly anticipated tournament will kick off with the season opener between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on March 22, in Kolkata. The tournament is set to run from March 22 to May 25, concluding with the final in Kolkata.

In the second match of the season, Mumbai Indians (MI) will face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on March 23 in Chennai. Sunrisers Hyderabad will host Rajasthan Royals on the same day in Hyderabad, gearing up the excitement for cricket fans.

This season, the IPL will comprise 74 games, with each team playing 14 matches. Some of the venues for this season include Dharamshala, Vizag, and Guwahati, alongside the 10 traditional IPL venues, adding more diversity to the locations where matches will be played.

Key matches to look forward to include the much-anticipated clash between RCB and CSK, with their first encounter on March 28 in Chennai, followed by a second match on May 3 in Bengaluru. CSK is scheduled to play four of their initial six games at their home ground, providing them with a strategic advantage. In contrast, Mumbai Indians will only have two consecutive matches at home, challenging them to adapt quickly to varying conditions.

The playoff venues have also been decided, with Hyderabad hosting Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator, while Kolkata will play host for Qualifier 2 and the Final, set for May 23 and May 25, respectively.
