Gujarat Titans is one of the newest teams in the IPL. They surprised everyone by winning the IPL title in their very first season. Gujarat won the title in IPL 2022 and remained runner-up in IPL 2023. But they managed to win only 5 matches out of 14 in the previous IPL season. Now Gujarat is ready to roar once again in IPL 2025 under the leadership of Shubman Gill. They strengthened their team by including some new Indian and foreign players in the IPL 2025 auction.

Now Gujarat looks like a very balanced team with new, talented, and experienced players. They have experienced and talented Indian players like Shubman Gill, Mohammed Siraj, Ishant Sharma, Washington Sundar, and Prasidh Krishna.

After the arrival of Jos Buttler, their overseas talents look stronger. Now they have good overseas talent in the form of, Kagiso Rabada, Gerald Coetzee, Rashid Khan, Glenn Phillips, and Sherfane Rutherford.

The Gujarat Titans’ overseas players are exceptional and have the potential to lead the team to victory. So, it will be interesting to see which players Gujarat selects for the playing 11 during IPL 2025. We are here to discuss the four overseas players who have a high possibility of playing most of the matches for the team in the upcoming season.

Jos Buttler 

England’s current T20 skipper, Jos Buttler, is one of the most experienced overseas players in the IPL. He has been continuously part of the IPL since IPL 2016. Gujarat Titans bought him for 15.75 CR in the IPL 2025 auction. Jos played 107 matches in the IPL and scored 3582 runs with an impressive strike rate of 147. He also scored 7 brilliant hundreds. 

His addition will surely be helpful for Gujarat for the upcoming season. He played 133 T20Is for England and scored 3528 runs. Jos also has good captaincy experience, which will be helpful for Gujarat‘s skipper, Shubham Gill. Surely, he will play most of the matches for the Gujarat Titans in the upcoming IPL season.

Rashid Khan 

Gujarat Titans retained Rashid as a key player for 18 CR in the IPL 2025 auction. He is also a very experienced overseas player. Rashid is known mainly for his googlies and leg spin bowling. He has been continuously part of the IPL since IPL 2017. Rashid played 121 matches in the IPL and took 149 wickets with an impressive economy of 6.82. 

Rashid can take wickets in middle overs and also can score fast runs in the lower order. He played 96 T20Is for Afghanistan and took 161 wickets. You will definitely see him being a part of Gujarat’s playing XI in IPL 2025.

Gerald Coetzee

Coetzee is a right-arm fast bowler from South Africa. In the previous season, he was part of the , where he played 10 matches and took 13 wickets. Gujarat bought him for 2.40 CR in the IPL 2025 auction. Along with fast bowling, he can also bat well in the lower order.

Coetzee perfectly matched the Gujarat Titan’s team combination. He played 10 T20Is for South Africa and took 14 wickets. So there is a high possibility that he will play most of the matches in the IPL 2025 for Gujarat Titans.

Glenn Phillips 

Phillips is a batting all-rounder from New Zealand. He mostly came to bat in the middle order and was also able to bowl a few spin-overs in the middle overs. Gujarat bought him for 2 CR at the IPL 2025 auction. He already played for two franchises in the IPL but didn’t get a chance to play more matches. 

Philips played 8 matches in IPL, scored 65 runs, and took two wickets as well. His inclusion will be helpful for the middle order of the Gujarat Titans. He played 83 T20Is for New Zealand, scoring 1929 runs with an impressive strike rate of 140. This year he will surely be part of the GT’s playing XI in the IPL 2025.
