In IPL 2025, the Punjab Kings are set for a memorable season. Punjab is a good team, but without a good captain, they have been away from winning the title so far. So, in the IPL 2025 auction, they bought the last title winner, Captain , at a high price of 26.75 CR. Punjab Kings’ record in IPL history has not been very good. They had succeeded in reaching the IPL final only once in 2014, when the Kolkata Knight Riders defeated them by three wickets.

Punjab entered the IPL 2025 auction with a huge purse of 110.5 CR, and they make a very balanced team for the upcoming season. They select talented and in-form players in the squad. This year, Punjab has excellent Indian talents in the form of Shreyas Iyer, Arshdeep Singh, Yuzvendra Chahal, Nehal Wadhera, and Shashank Singh.

They also add brilliant overseas star players to the squad, like Glenn Maxwell, Marco Jansen, Azmatullah Omarzai, Marcus Stoinis, Josh Inglis, and Luckie Ferguson. There is a high possibility Punjab can do great wonders in IPL 2025.

Punjab King’s overseas players are outstanding and are capable of winning the match for them. Most of them are brilliant all-rounders. So, it will be interesting to see which players the team selects for the playing 11 during IPL 2025. We are here to discuss the four overseas players who have a high possibility of playing most of the matches for the team in the upcoming season.

Marco Jansen

Jansen is a brilliant fast-bowling all-rounder from South Africa. Currently, he is performing outstandingly in the SA20 2025 league. He was signed by Punjab for 7 CR. Jansen has been a part of the IPL for the last 4 years, but he didn’t get many chances in the playing XI of the teams. He played 21 matches in the IPL, took 20 wickets, and scored 66 runs.

Jansen perfectly matches with the team combination of Punjab. He played 17 matches for South Africa, took 16 wickets, and scored 166 runs for the team. So, there’s a high possibility that he will play most of the matches for Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025.

Glenn Maxwell

Punjab Kings buy back their former Australian player Glen Maxwell for Rs 4.2 CR. Maxwell already played 5 seasons for the Punjab team. He was one of those overseas players who had very good experience with the IPL. Maxwell played 134 matches in the IPL, scored 2771 runs, and took 45 wickets as well. His season-best performance in the IPL was also for Punjab when he scored 552 runs at a good strike rate of 188 in IPL 2014.

Overall, he played 116 T20 matches for Australia, scored 2664 runs, and took 43 wickets as well. He also has 5 international T20 hundreds for his country. Surely, he will play most of the matches for the Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025.

Marcus Stoinis

This excellent Australian all-rounder was also bought by Punjab Kings at the bid of Rs 11 crore in the IPL 2025 auction. Stoinis is one of those players who can change the momentum of the match at any time with brilliant batting and bowling. He also has experience in IPL, as he played 96 matches in the league, scored 1866 runs, and took 43 wickets as well.

He also played his first three seasons of IPL for Punjab. Overall, he played 74 T20 matches for Australia, scored 1245 runs, and took 45 wickets as well. He will be part of Punjab’s playing 11 during most of the matches in IPL 2025.

Josh Inglis

Josh Inglis is an Australian wicketkeeper-batsman who mostly came to bat in the top order. This is the first time that any IPL franchise has shown interest in him. Punjab Kings bought him at 2.6 CR in the IPL 2025 auction. Josh played 29 T20 matches for Australia, scoring 706 runs, with an impressive strike rate of 157. He also scored two international T20 hundreds.

Josh suits perfectly with the team combination of Punjab Kings, and he will play an important role in strengthening the top order of Punjab. You will definitely see him being a part of Punjab’s playing 11 in IPL 2025.
