One of Indian Premier League (IPL)’s all-time great batter Shikhar Dhawan revealed his new Irish girlfriend Sophie Shine on his Instagram handle. The photo of the duo have gone viral on social media since then, gaining overs thousands of likes.

Former India opener who led the Punjab Kings in the IPL previously, announced his decision to retire from all forms of cricket last year after the IPL 2024 season. Since then, he has been playing on various Legends leagues and has been on Hindi commentary duty in the IPL 2025 season.

Outside of cricket, Shikhar Dhawan has just put the whole cricketing fraternity on shock after revealing his new Irish girlfriend Sophie Shine on his latest Instagram post that read the caption “My (heart emoji)”.

The Social media has been abuzz since then and the photo of the dup together has gone viral on social media, collecting well overs few lakhs of likes.

However, this is not the first time that the duo has featured together in a social media post. A couple of weeks back, both Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie released a hilarious reel video that garnered a lot of rumours about the two dating each other.

Meanwhile, in the recent weeks, Sophie Shine has been visiting various popular destinations in India lately during this peak IPL season, making most of her time in India. On her Instagram handle, she the Irish lady has shared pictures of the Taj Mahal with her family and recently been to Udaipur as well.

Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan and Sophie Shine relationship actually dates back to the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 edition. Sophie has been captured watching the mega event which team India won and in-fact Shikhar Dhawan was one of the brand ambassador of the tournament.

Who is Sophie Shine?

Sophie Shine is an Irish girlfriend of former Indian cricket men’s cricket team opening batter Shikhar Dhawan and she is a product specialist. She holds the position of second vice-president at the Northern Trust Corporation in Abu Dhabi, which is a U.S. based financial service firm.

She also has a marketing and management degree from the Limerick Institute of Technology and also attended the famous Castleroy College in Ireland where she pursued her early studies.
