Star India and Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out for the initial few matches of the IPL 2025 campaign for the 5-times champions.

Indian cricket team’s right-arm pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah suffered an injury during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series vs Australia and since then he has been ruled out from competitive cricket action for team India. Team India played the entire ICC Champions Trophy without their star pacer and eventually won the trophy beating New Zealand in the final.

However, Jasprit Bumrah is an integral member of the Mumbai Indians (MI) franchise in the IPL. Bumrah is one of the pillar of the franchise alongside the likes of Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

Jasprit Bumrah return date?

Bumrah’s injury has left many Mumbai Indians fans worried when the pace bowler is likely to join the team. It has already been confirmed that Bumrah is set to miss the initial few matches and now a new ESPNcricinfo report states that Jasprit Bumrah could be back for MI in early April.

Mumbai Indians will begin their campaign against CSK and Gujarat away before finally hosting KKR at home to end May’s fixtures. They then play Lucknow and RCB in the first week of April and if Bumrah is expected to return in early April, it could very well be vs RCB. However, there is no still no confirmation about when Jasprit will be available for selection for Mumbai Indians.

Jasprit Bumrah is currently under the supervision of Indian cricket team’s physios and unless there is a complete green light, it is unlikely that the BCCI will permit the player to play in the IPL with the hugely important England away series starting right after the IPL with Bumrah set to play a crucial role, including maybe given the leadership role.
