Jos Buttler Achieves 4,000 IPL Runs Milestone

Jos Buttler has joined an elite group of overseas players by becoming one of the fastest to reach 4,000 runs in the Indian Premier League (IPL). This milestone came during a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, marking another significant achievement in his illustrious IPL career.

Buttler, who was batting at number three for Gujarat Titans, achieved this milestone early in his innings against SRH. His journey in the IPL began in 2016 when he debuted for the Mumbai Indians. Over the years, his consistent performance has seen him surpass notable South African cricketers Faf du Plessis and AB de Villiers in terms of quick run accumulation. Indeed, Buttler is now the third fastest overseas player to achieve the 4,000-run milestone in the history of the IPL.

A key figure in the IPL, Buttler boasts impressive statistics. He has scored seven centuries and 23 half-centuries, maintaining an average of nearly 40 and a striking rate close to 150. These figures highlight his explosive batting ability and crucial role within his team.

During the same match against SRH in the IPL 2025, Gujarat Titans’ openers Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill provided a strong start, scoring 87 runs in just the first seven overs. However, Sai Sudharsan was eventually dismissed by SRH bowler Zeeshan Ansari. A win in this match would secure Gujarat Titans a place among the top three sides in the IPL 2025 season.
