Kevin Pietersen Calls Ambati Rayudu “Joker” on Live TV After He Changed His Orange Suit to Blue After SRH Final Loss

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final saw Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) deliver a dominant performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), securing their third IPL title with an emphatic 8-wicket victory on May 26th. The match, held at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, showcased KKR’s prowess in both bowling and batting.
SRH captain Pat Cummins’ decision to bat first backfired spectacularly. They were bundled out for a paltry 113 runs. Mitchell Starc dismissed both Abhishek Sharma and Rahul Tripathi early, and Vaibhav Arora got rid of Travis Head, leaving SRH struggling at 21/3 within the powerplay. Despite a brief resistance from Cummins, who top-scored with 24 runs, SRH kept losing wickets regularly and never recovered.
In their reply, KKR did not start well as Sunil Narine fell cheaply for 6 runs. However, Venkatesh Iyer took charge and played a stunning unbeaten innings of 52 runs off just 26 balls, ensuring a swift and comfortable chase. KKR reached the target of 114 in just 11 overs, losing only two wickets.
Kevin Pietersen Calls Ambati Rayudu Joker
The victory celebrations saw a mix of joy and humour. Kevin Pietersen, a former cricketer known for his playful personality, took a lighthearted jab at Ambati Rayudu. Pietersen teased Rayudu for changing out of his orange outfit, presumably worn in support of his local team SRH, right after the match ended.
Mayanti Langer, the presenter, pointed out Rayudu’s change from orange to blue suit, “Thank you for bringing up the fact that he’s changed from orange to blue,” Langer said.
To which, Kevin Pietersen said “The audacity. I have at least held firm. I’ve owned it. You are a joker,” Pietersen said on Live TV.
No way Kevin Pietersen called Ambati Rayudu a Joker on live TV.
