Delhi Capitals will be happy after KL Rahul joins the squad in Visakhapatnam ahead of their upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Sunday at 3:30 PM Indian Standard Time (IST).

KL Rahul had to miss the opening game of Delhi Capitals against Lucknow Super Giants due to the birth of his first child. Athiya Shetty, actor and wife of the Indian cricketer, gave birth to a baby girl on 24th March, Monday.

Delhi Capitals’ season opener started with a thrilling win against Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants, the ex-team of KL Rahul. With the Indian stalwart ready to don the jersey for Delhi Capitals, it will be interesting to see how they’re going to tackle Sunrisers Hyderabad in their upcoming fixture.

Who will be replaced by KL Rahul?

After spending some time with his wife and family, KL Rahul has joined the Delhi Capitals squad ahead of the clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Though missing the opening match against his former team, KL Rahul will be eager to kickoff his tournament campaign for Delhi Capitals.

Despite KL Rahul’s presence, Delhi Capitals already has an explosive opening duo with the likes of Australian batter Jake Fraser-McGurk and South Africa’s southpaw Faf du Plessis as both the batters look rock solid on the cards.

However, they didn’t have a good time in the opening encounter against Lucknow Super Giants. With Fraser-McGurk returning with a single-digit score, the experienced campaigner had to walk back due to scoreboard pressure.

KL Rahul’s flexibility to bat at any position makes him an invaluable asset for any side he plays. Likewise, Delhi Capitals will look forward to continuing with the same opening pair against Sunrisers Hyderabad.

So we can expect KL Rahul to replace Sameer Rizvi as number four against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Sameer Rizvi is an interesting talent but when it comes to the team, someone has to make way for the Indian stalwart, KL Rahul.

With KL Rahul taking the charge in the middle, and Tristan Stubbs will take care of finishing the games along with impact player Ashutosh Sharma. The 26-year-old has pulled off a magical win for Delhi Capitals against LSG. Therefore, we can expect a thrilling encounter between Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday.
