Lucknow Super Giants are set to enhance their performance in the ongoing IPL 2025 as KL Rahul rejoins the team for their upcoming encounter against Sunrisers Hyderabad. The team’s all-rounder, Vipraj Nigam, expressed optimism regarding Rahul’s return, underscoring his importance for the squad’s overall strength and morale.

Vipraj Nigam, making his IPL debut, was a notable performer in Lucknow Super Giants’ opening match against Delhi Capitals at Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium. Even though the match ended in a narrow one-wicket victory for the Capitals, Nigam’s impressive performance left a mark. He formed a crucial 55-run partnership with teammate Ashutosh Sharma, contributing significantly with 39 runs off just 15 balls. Sharma, on the other hand, remained unbeaten with 66 runs, playing a vital role in chasing down the target.

On the bowling front, Nigam’s leg-break bowling secured him a wicket, giving away 35 runs, while seasoned bowlers Mitchell Starc and Kuldeep Yadav bolstered Lucknow’s bowling attack with figures of 3-42 and 2-20 respectively. Despite posting a solid score of 209/5 in the allotted 20 overs, the Super Giants were unable to secure a win.

Nigam is keen on maintaining his performance momentum, attributing his readiness to rigorous practice matches and net sessions, which also helped in building a strong on-field chemistry with Ashutosh Sharma.
