The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is done and dusted with Team India crowned. Meanwhile the whole of India is set to celebrate cricket’s biggest festival, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season set to commence on 22nd March.

While there was no post win rally to celebrate the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 win vs New Zealand, the Indian cricket fanatics are set to be delighted with 2 months of cricket’s biggest T20 league action as the IPL 2025 season kicks-off on 22nd March with the defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) taking on the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Eden Gardens.

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the IPL 2024 edition, earning the right to host the opening match of the season as well as the final match to be played in May. The excitement continues to rise ahead of cricket’s biggest festival’s return.

But there are some fanbases who have been left disappointed with some of their team’s key players set to miss the start of the season. Below is the list of players who will miss the start of the IPL 2025 season.

Jasprit Bumrah will miss Mumbai Indians’ first few matches in IPL 2025

One of the biggest name that is set to miss the starting few matches of the IPL 2025 season is Mumbai Indians‘ star pacer Jasprit Bumrah. Bumrah will miss the start of the IPL 2025 as he is currently recovering from a lower back injury for which he had to miss the ICC Champions Trophy. Although awaiting confirmation, it is believed that Bumrah will miss first 2 weeks of action.

Mayank Yadav

Another Indian pace express bowler who will miss the start of the IPL 2025 is Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav. Mayank Yadav is currently also recovering from an Injury and is unlikely to be available for the first half of the IPL 2025 for LSG. Mayank caught attention worldwide his fiery pace bowling with the ability to consistently bowl over 150+ KMPH.

Mitchell Marsh adds double blow for LSG

Another Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) played who is set to miss the starting few matches of the IPL 2025 is Mitchell Marsh. Marsh who also missed the ICC Champions Trophy for Australia, is currently sidelined for his back injury and is likely to be available for the Rishabh Pant led side after their first few matches of the campaign, but there is still no confirmation on the same.
