Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has expressed his enthusiasm for batting alongside West Indies batsman Nicholas Pooran for the Lucknow Super Giants in the IPL 2025 season. Marsh’s partnership with Pooran has proved to be fruitful, as both players have demonstrated outstanding performances on the field.

In a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Nicholas Pooran delivered an impressive knock, scoring 70 runs off just 26 balls, leading Lucknow Super Giants to a comfortable victory. Mitchell Marsh, contributing to the team’s success, scored 52 runs off 31 balls in the same encounter. Their synchronized efforts were further highlighted by both players securing half-centuries in two successive games, proving to be a formidable duo against both Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals.

Marsh praised Pooran’s batting style, describing it as “captivating.” He also noted that their chemistry on the field is growing, despite their minimal conversation during matches to maintain focus and rhythm.

In addition to acknowledging Pooran’s prowess, Marsh extended his admiration to young pacer Prince Yadav. Yadav demonstrated exceptional skill with his controlled bowling and game-awareness, making a notable impact with a crucial wicket and a run-out for the team.

Reflecting on the challenges faced by Sunrisers Hyderabad during these matches, Heinrich Klaasen admitted that the team struggled to set a more competitive target. Klaasen mentioned that achieving a score of 210 to 220 runs would have been ideal, but the team fell short. He emphasized the need for improvement, particularly in maintaining momentum and avoiding the loss of wickets at critical times.

Mitchell Marsh’s positive outlook on his partnership with Nicholas Pooran and acknowledgment of young cricket talent like Prince Yadav displays the dynamic nature of IPL 2025. The Lucknow Super Giants seem poised for continued success with their strong lineup and strategic gameplay.
