Nitish Kumar Reddy Reveal He Scored MCG Hundred Wearing Virat Kohli’s Shoes

Indian cricket team’s rising star and all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy has made a shocking revelation about his historic Test century he scored vs Australia during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
In a viral video on social media, Indian cricket team’s all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, who made his Test debut vs Australia, revealed that he scored his maiden Test century at the MCG wearing what was Virat Kohli’s pair of shoes that the Indian batting sensation had gave him.
In the 4th Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test match played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), Nitish Kumar Reddy struck a brilliant century where he scored 114 runs of 189 balls during India’s 1st inning to eventually help the Rohit Sharma men to post 369 runs on the board while chasing Australia’s 1st inning total of 474 runs.
It was a proud moment for Nitish Reddy and his family as it was one of the most memorable inning for him despite making his Test debut earlier in the series.
Meanwhile, Nitish has revealed that he was in-fact wearing Virat Kohli’s shoes during the match which the Indian batting mystro had gave him prior to the match.
Nitish said in an interview, “If you saw my 100, that’s not my shoes, that’s Virat bhai’s shoes. He asked Sarfaraz first, ‘Sarfoo, tera size kya hai?’ Toh Sarfoo said 9 or something. So, he asked me ‘Nitish, what’s your size?’ I was like oh my god, I have to guess this correctly. Even if it’s not my size, I want to take that shoe so badly. So, I said, 10. He’s like, “Oh okay, take these shoes, if you want, you can take’. I was like ‘I want to take’. The next match, I wore that shoe and scored a 100.”
Nitish Kumar Reddy to play for SRH in IPL 2025
Nitish Kumar Reddy is meanwhile getting ready to turn out for the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the IPL 2025 season. He made his debut last season 2024 and he made it a memorable one as he scored 303 runs in 11 innings with a strike rate of 142.92.
He was then picked the Indian T20I side for the T20I series vs Bangladesh and he impressed so much so that Indian team head coach made a gamble to include the all-rounder in the Test team for the big Test series vs Australia. He eventually finished the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series with 298 runs in 9 innings with an average of 64.22.
