PAK vs CAN: Babar Azam’s U19 Teammate And Canada Pacer Kaleem Sana Determined to Get Pakistan Captain’s Wicket

Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s friend and Canada cricket team pacer Kaleem Sana is focused on dismissing the Pakistan captain and when they faces off in their upcoming T20 World Cup match on Tuesday, June 11. The game will be held at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
Kaleem Sana Focused On Getting Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam Out
In an interview with Geo News, Sana shared his past connection with Babar, mentioning their eight years playing together during their U16 days and being part of the 2010 U19 World Cup squad. “Since I bowl with the new ball, my targets will obviously be Rizwan and Babar,” said the Rawalpindi-born bowler.
Sana’s journey took a challenging turn when he sustained a back injury just before the 2010 U19 World Cup, which left him in a wheelchair and affected his bowling pace. This setback limited his opportunities in Pakistan’s domestic circuit until 2014. In 2015, seeking better prospects, the 30-year-old moved to Canada with the help of a friend.
Sana made his T20I debut for the Canada cricket team in the year 2022 and played a crucial role in guiding the Canadian National team to the T20 World Cup 2024. His bowling of 3/4 against the Bermuda cricket team in the Americas qualifiers helped Canada triumph and get their tickets for the mega event.
Both the teams come into this match with contrasting result from the other. Pakistan cricket suffered a defeat by 6 runs against Team India while trying to chase a target of 120 runs. After this, there is much talk about the Pakistan team and there is huge pressure on them to deliver. Meanwhile, Canada recorded a win against Ireland in their last match, their first ever win against a Test playing nation. They are pumped for the clash against Pakistan and are confident enough to repeat USA’s upset win over the Men in Green.
