“Play in same stadium, same pitch” – Rassie van der Dussen Alleges Team India for Unfair Advantage in Champions Trophy 2025

The South African batsman, Rassie van der Dussen has come up with a bold statement on India ahead of Champions Trophy 2025. He alleges the Indian team as they have an upper hand of playing at the same venue for the entire tournament.
In a recent interaction at Karachi, the 36-year-old cricketer said, “It’s definitely an advantage. I saw that Pakistan was commenting about it, it’s definitely an advantage. If you can stay in one place, stay in one hotel, practice in the same facilities, play in the same stadium, on the same pitches every time, it’s definitely an advantage,” was quoted as saying by ESPNCricinfo.
“I don’t think you have to be a rocket scientist to know that. The onus would be on them to use that advantage. In a sense, it puts more pressure on them because whoever is going to play them in the semi or potentially the final is going to go there and the conditions are going to be foreign, but they (India) are going to be used to it. The pressure would be on them to get it right because they have all that knowledge,” he added.
Knowing the fact that the Government of India refused permission for travelling to Pakistan. In that case, the ICC board and hosts have voted in favour of India to play all their games away from the country.
On the other side, South Africa has won their first battle against Afghanistan by a huge margin of 107 runs. However, their clash against Australia has been called off without being a single ball bowled.
Having a look at the Indian side, Rohit Sharma and his men have won both the games they played against Bangladesh and Pakistan. With already cemented their place in the semi’s, India will be looking to finish on a high note against New Zealand in the group stage of the tournament.
