RCB Fans Blame Bollywood Fame Arshad Warsi After Arshad Khan Dismissed Virat Kohli

The centre of attention today on social media has been Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans blaming Bollywood actor Arshad Warsi after Gujarat Titans’ bowler Arshad Khan dismissed Virat Kohli last night.
The match number 14 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 was played between the hosts Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and the Gujarat Titans (GT) at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Gujarat Titans registered a dominating win over the hosts by 8 wickets. GT gave RCB major shock when they reduced RCB to 4 wickets for 42 runs, something they are not accustomed to this season.
Virat Kohli Fans Blame Arshad Warsi
The first blow to the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) were dealt by Indian bowler Arshad Khan. Arshad bowled a brilliant ball on the body line which Kohli tried to pull, however, neither he could keep it down nor give it elevation as Prasidh Krishna took a simple catch at deep backward square.
Following, Arshad taking Indian star batter’s wickets, some of Virat Kohli and RCB fans took it to social media to blame Arshad Warsi, a name that very much resembles Arshad Khan.
It is to be noted, Arshad Warsi is a very popular name in Indian scenes and it is very unlikely that anyone misunderstood him to Arshad Khan, but it was rather a pun by the RCB fans, as there has been several times that many Kohli fans misunderstood the bowler who dismissed Kohli in the past and blame the wrong, the most recent examples being Himanshu Sangwan.
Talking about the match, after losing 4 wickets for 42 runs, Liam Livingstone’s half century, Jitesh Sharma’s 33 runs inning and Tim David’s cameo of 32 runs off 18 balls helped RCB post 169 runs on the board.
However, Gujarat Titans made an easy work of it. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan added 32 runs for the 1st wickets before Sai and Jos Buttler 75 runs and 65 runs partnership between Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford ensured Gujarat Titans win by 8 wickets in 18 overs.
Captain Shubman Gill was dismissed after scoring just 14 runs, but Sai Sudharsan was unfortunate to miss his half-century as he scored 49 runs while Jos Buttler and Sherfane Rutherford remained not out for 73 and 30 runs.
