Bumrah is on fire in the third inning of the Boxing Day Test and took 4 important wickets during the Australian cricket team’s inning. He took the wickets of Sam Konsta, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Alex Carey till the tea break of Day 4.

Overall, Bumrah has taken 23 wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), which is the most by a visiting bowler at the venue in the last 110 years. Bumrah also completed his 200 Test wickets in 44 red ball matches. He became the 4th fastest bowler to get this mark in terms of bowls (in 8484 balls).

After taking the wicket of Alex Carey, Pat Cummins joined to bat with Marnus Labuschagne. Then Bumrah bowled a few overs before he was given rest. But he was really eager to bowl more as he asked a few more overs to bowl from the captain Rohit Sharma. But Rohit wanted to change in bowling, and he wanted to use a spinning attack.

He gave a break to Bumrah. So he denied Bumrah to bowl more overs. But after some overs before the tea break, Rohit used Bumrah again to bowl and try to scrape through some more wickets.

While there is still not much as to why Rohit decided to do so, but it is very clear that he was looking to manage his workload as Jasprit Bumrah has been Team India’s best bowlers in the series and in the Melbourne Test match and Rohit and team management wouldn’t want to risk any potential injury to Bumrah.

Team India on top of Australia in Melbourne

Team India have done exceedingly well on day 4 of the Melbourne Test. The pace bowling duo of Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj have particularly been very effective for the side.

While Bumrah has taken 4 wickets, Siraj has contributed with 3 wickets himself, including the really important ones of the likes of Steve Smith and Marnus Labuchagne, who was looking really comfortable for Australia.
