Meanwhile, a recent stat update provided by the ESPNcricinfo has Rohit Sharma as one of India’s worst fielder. ESPNcricinfo shared a stat on their social media handle in which Rohit Sharma has dropped 10 catches of the 22 attempted since the year 2023.
ESPNcricinfo’s stat contained a list of player with lowest % of catches in ODI cricket 2023 and Rohit Sharma tops the list with 54.55 catches. Since 2023, Sharma has attempted 22 catches and dropped 10 while he has completed only 12 catches.
The other players in this list includes Brandon King and Charith Asalanka with 8 drop catches, Glenn Phillips and Pathum Nissanka with 7 drop catches respectively.

India made easy work of Bangladesh
Meanwhile, the Indian cricket team made light work of Bangladesh in their opening match of the Champions Trophy 2025. With Shami’s 5-fer and Harshit Rana and Axar Patel taking 3 and 2 wickets respectively, India bowled out Bangladesh for 228 runs.
Later, Shubman Gill scored a century with the bat in hand as India won the match by 6 wickets. Rohit Sharma scored 41 runs off 36 balls while his opening partner Shubman Gill remained unbeaten for 101 runs off 129 balls while KL Rahul also remained unbeaten for 41 runs off 47 balls.
The Indian cricket team’s next challenge awaits in the form of Pakistan cricket team this Sunday on 23rd February. The match will be played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium from 2:30 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST).
