Rohit Sharma performed very disappointingly in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He scored 31 runs in three matches and also dropped out of the fifth match of the BGT 2024-25. He also did not perform well in the home series against Bangladesh and New Zealand.

Now Sharma is looking for his form and has started practice with Mumbai’s Ranji team camp. He practised for two hours in Wankhede Stadium with the team’s camp on Tuesday morning. The Mumbai Ranji Team starts a one-week training camp before their sixth-round match against Jammu and Kashmir. However, it remains unclear whether will participate in a few Ranji Trophy matches. But there is a high possibility that he will play at least one match out of two.

After the Sydney test team, India’s head coach, Gautam Gambhir, also said in the media that players need to play in domestic cricket. Former Indian cricketers criticize most senior Indian cricket team players for not participating in domestic cricket leagues. In an interview, Irfan Pathan said the great Sachin Tendulkar also played a few domestic matches before his retirement, but currently, Indian team members are not participating.

Rohit Sharma’s future in Test cricket

Rohit Sharma’s future in Test cricket is uncertain. He has been out of form for a long time. But he is clear that he is not in the mood to retire from the longest format of cricket soon. Now Rohit Sharma is looking to regain his excellent form, so he starts practice in the Ranji Trophy practice session, which is also a clear message that he will bounce back very soon. He has played 67 Test matches for India, scoring 4301 runs with an average of 40.57. Sharma also scored 12 centuries and 18 half-centuries in the test. We hope Sharma will play a few more years for the Indian team with excellent form.
