Sanjay Manjrekar Leaves Out Virat Kohli in IPL 2025 Top Batters List

In a controversial post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, former India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar has left-out Virat Kohli in an IPL 2025 Top Batters List while mentioning the likes of KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Travis Head, Mitchell Marsh, Suryakumar Yadav.

We are halfway into the IPL 2025 season and the points table is now starting to get clear as which four teams look favourite to qualify for the playoffs.

In terms of individual performance, Virat Kohli has proved once again why he is the IPL’s all-time leading run scorer and the best player ever to grace the tournament in its 18 years of glory.

Yet, former Indian cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar disappointed a lot of loyal Virat Kohli fans when he decided to leave out Kohli while mentioning top batters in the IPL 2025 season.

In his social media post, Manjrekar said, “When it comes to batting only list that matters. Big runs with great SR so far,” and went on to add the likes of Nicholas Pooran, Priyansh Arya, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Jos Buttler, Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen and Shubman Gill also mentioning their runs and strike rate.

However, Sanjay Manjrekar cannot be faulted with the list of names he has picked as all the mentioned players have scored good runs and has better strike rate than Virat Kohli.

Meanwhile, Virat Kohli fans have been furious at Manjrekar for leaving out Kohli in his list despite the former Indian captain being the top run scorer for the Royals Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the IPL 2025 season.

Virat Kohli is the all-time leading run scorer of the Indian Premier League with over 8000 runs. He has already scored 392 runs in 9 innings for RCB maintaining a strike rate of 144.12 and average of 65.33.
