According to the recent reports from the Times of India, the ace Indian all-rounder, Shardul Thakur is all set to represent Lucknow Super Giants, replacing Mohsin Khan ahead of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League.

Mohsin Khan is well known for his strategic skills with the ball. But the latter is currently struggling with a calf strain after resumed bowling in the training camp of Lucknow Super Giants.

Shardul Thakur to replace injured Mohsin Khan in LSG

After going unsold at the mega auction of IPL 2025, the right-handed all-rounder has performed well in the domestic circuit. In the mega auction, Shardul Thakur set his base price of INR 2 crores.

However, none of the franchises showed interest in the 33-year-old cricketer, letting him in the unsold players list. He was also seen practicing in the Lucknow Super Giants training camp as some of his pictures went viral on the social media platforms.

And, considering the reports from the Time of India, Shardul Thakur is set to replace Mohsin Khan ahead of the IPL 2025. However, the official announcement is yet to be released by the franchise which we can expect it in the upcoming days.

“The official announcement is yet to be made but it’s learnt that (Shardul) Thakur has been informed about the decision and will be travelling with the side to Visakhapatnam for their season opener vs Delhi Capitals,” report released by The Times of India.

Apart from Mohsin Khan, the other Lucknow pacers Akash Deep, Avesh Khan and Mayank Yadav are yet to join the squad ahead of IPL 2025. While Avesh Khan is still recovering from the knee injury, Akash Deep and Mayank Yadav are still at the Centre of Excellence (COE) of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
