Recently, former Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi has shockingly blamed the Indian army for the Pahalgam terror attack. After this, his statement was severely criticised in India. On this, Indian left-handed batsman Shikhar Dhawan has taught him a good lesson in his post on ‘X’.

Shikhar Dhawan mentioned Shahid Afridi in his post and advised him to focus on his country’s progress. Shikhar wrote, “Kargil mein bhi haraya tha, already itna gire hue ho aur kitna giroge, bewajah comments pass karne se acha hai apne desh ki taraqqi mai dimag lagao. Humein hamari Indian Army par bohot garv hai. Bharat Mata Ki Jai! Jai Hind!”

[“You were defeated in Kargil as well. You have already fallen so much, and how many more will you fall? Instead of passing unnecessary comments, it is better to use your mind in the progress of your country. We are very proud of our Indian Army. Bharat Mata ki Jai! Jai Hind!”]

This is not the first time that Shahid Afridi has made an inflammatory statement in the media. He has always been trying to remain in the media headlines with his provocative speeches. He has previously also said inappropriate things about the Indian Army and Kashmir, to which Indian cricketers have responded many times. Recently, during an interview with Samaa TV, Afridi had said that India has an army of 8 lakh in Kashmir, and yet this happened, which means they are inefficient and useless if they cannot provide security to their people. Since then, many in India have widely criticised his statement.

As we know, on 22 April 2025, a terrorist attack on innocent tourists at Baisaran Valley in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir killed 26 and injured more than 20 others. After the Pahalgam terror attack, many cricketers and sports personalities have called it an irresponsible attack on innocent civilians.
