BCCI has confirmed its yearly player retainership for the 2024-25 season, with Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan returning to the national setup.

Indian cricketers Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer, who were previously released from central contracts by the BCCI, have been restored in the national team, as the supreme organization for cricket in India revealed its yearly player retainership for the 2024-25 season on Monday, April 21, 2025.

Indian team veterans Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have kept their A+ category contracts even after retiring from the T20I format. The highest-grade BCCI contract pays Rs 7 crore per year apart from match fees and incentives. The senior pair of Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja, who have also retired from T20Is, have also kept their A+ category contract.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket last cricket, has been replaced by Rishabh Pant in the A category contract, whereas the other five players are the same in the category. Pant was part of the B category in last year’s annual contract list.

The newest entrants to the list of central contracts, all of whom have been assigned to Grade C, are Nitish Kumar Reddy, Dhruv Jurel, Abhishek Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Akash Deep, Varun Chakravarthy, and Harshit Rana. Jitesh Sharma, KS Bharath, and Avesh Khan – who were in category C last year – have been omitted from the contract list entirely.
