Shubman Gill Achieves 4,500 T20 Runs Milestone

Gujarat Titans’ captain Shubman Gill has reached a significant milestone in his T20 cricket career by amassing 4,500 runs. This accomplishment was achieved during Match 5 of the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season against Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. Gill completed this milestone with his 29th run in the match.
Gill’s record in T20 cricket is commendable. He reached this landmark in his 146th match and has hit six centuries and 26 half-centuries in this format. A substantial portion of his T20 runs, over 3,200, have been made in the IPL, underscoring his proficiency and impact in the league.
Gill’s T20I performance for Team India is also noteworthy, having scored 578 runs from 21 matches. His cricket journey began in the IPL in 2018 with Kolkata Knight Riders, before moving to Gujarat Titans during the 2022 IPL mega auction. His performance in the 2020 season was particularly impressive, scoring 440 runs at an average of 33.84.
In 2021, Gill played a crucial role in helping Kolkata Knight Riders reach the IPL final with 478 runs at an average of 28.11. Joining Gujarat Titans, Gill became the team’s highest run-scorer in the IPL, with over 1,800 runs to his name.
The 2022 season marked a success for Gujarat Titans, with Gill scoring 483 runs at an average of 34.50, aiding in their title-winning campaign. He further excelled in 2023 with a remarkable tally of 890 runs from 17 matches at an average of 59.33, narrowly missing Virat Kohli’s record. Last season, Gill maintained his form, scoring 426 runs at an average of 38.72.
Gill’s achievements extend beyond T20 cricket, as he holds the position of vice-captain in India’s ODI team, showcasing his leadership qualities and cricketing prowess.
