Star Indian Batter Ruled out of Semis Clash just Before Champions Trophy due to Ankle Injury

The Indian cricket team’s star batter Yashasvi Jaiswal has been ruled out of the upcoming Ranji Trophy semi-final for Mumbai starting from 17th February, Monday 2025 as Mumbai take on Vidarbha.
The Mumbai cricket team is the most successful team in the Ranji Trophy history having won the title a total of 42 times and they have reached the semi-final in search of the 43rd title.
Mumbai will take on Vidarbha is the semi-final starting from 17th February. But before this, there is big setback for the Mumbai team as Yashasvi Jaiswal has been ruled out of selection due to injury. Thus, the India international won’t feature in the match for Mumbai.
The Mumbai cricket team finished in 2nd place in the points table in Group A behind a Jammu and Kashmir side who have had their best season to date. Mumbai won 4 matches and lost 2 matches with one match ending in a draw during their 7 match group stage.
Yashasvi Jaiswal dropped from Champions Trophy squad
Yashasvi Jaiswal was most recently dropped from the squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after making his debut in the 1st ODI vs England during the 3 match series which India won.
Jaiswal became a mainstay and the future of the Indian cricket team after his display in the red ball format and the T20I format. But he had to wait a long one for his ODI debut. In his debut match in the 1st ODI vs England, he scored 15 runs in 22 balls and was dropped from the team there on.
ICC Champions Trophy 2025 to begin from 19 February
The ICC Champions Trophy is meanwhile making its return after a gap of 7 years since the last edition was played in 2017 which Pakistan won beating and will be hosting the tournament as a result.
The hosts faces off against New Zealand in the opening match of the tournament on 19th February. Team India is one of the favourite to win the tournament and they begin their season on 20th February before the big India vs Pakistan match on 23rd February.
